7 Kinnaur boxers to get training in K’taka

SHIMLA: JSW Energy Limited on Friday announced to provide training to seven young boxers from Kinnaur at India’s first privately funded High Performance Olympic Training Centre- Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) in Ballari, Karnataka.

JSW Energy Limited on Friday announced to provide training to seven young boxers from Kinnaur at India’s first privately funded High Performance Olympic Training Centre- Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) in Ballari, Karnataka.

The seven boxers are Deepika (16), Anjali (12), Ashmit (14), Ritu (15), Anil (14) and Rishab (14) and Kailash Negi.

Currently, they are studying in a local school and hail from the hardest area of the state.

Deepika of class XII is the national gold medallist. She has won three gold medals at the state level. Anjali of class VIII is a beginner.

Ashmit of class X has participated in various district, state and national-level events. He has won gold medals at the national and state-level events. Ritu of class X has participated in various district and state-level events and has won a gold medal at a state-level event. — TNS
