80% complete projects to get additional funds before March 31, says Himachal Agri Minister

Public welfare and development projects being executed by various government departments, which have achieved more than 80 per cent physical progress, will be provided additional funds before March 31 to ensure their timely completion and delivery of benefits to the community.

This was stated by Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Chander Kumar while presiding over a meeting of the Public Grievance Redressal Committee here on Monday.

During the meeting, a detailed review of the functioning of various departments in the Nurpur subdivision was conducted. The minister directed departmental officers to prepare an action plan for the next financial year after March and to monitor progress on a quarterly basis.

Chander Kumar observed that development works often get delayed due to pending forest clearances and underutilisation of funds. He instructed officials to strengthen coordination with the Forest Department and expedite the process of obtaining forest clearances for proposed development projects.

Former local MLA Ajay Mahajan, departmental officers and non-government members of the committee were also present at the meeting. Grievances pertaining to different departments were discussed in detail and the minister issued necessary directions to the officers concerned.

He made it clear that there should be no laxity in resolving public grievances and that timely redressal of every complaint must be ensured. The minister said the primary objective of the Public Grievance Redressal Committee meetings is to seriously address public issues and take concrete, effective decisions so that people receive the benefits of development and justice within the shortest possible time.
