NURPUR, SEPTEMBER 20

The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Ltd (HPSEBL) Employees’ Union has taken an exception to the abolition of technical employee posts in the transmission wing of the HPSEBL.

Kuldeep Kharwara, state president of the union, in press note here today, said the management had issued a notification for scrapping the technical posts of junior engineer (power substation) foreman and foreman special, which had blocked the promotion avenues of the employees.

Kharwara alleged that the Directorate of the HPSEBL was shielding private contractors, who had been exploiting outsourced employees in the board.

“The promotions of the employees are being delayed to harass the employees. The promotion rules are being altered to affect the opportunities of the board employees. The union had brought anti- employee issues to the notice of the Managing Director of the HPSEBL,” he said.

An emergency meeting of office-bearers of the union was being convened at Shimla on Tuesday to chalk out a strategy against the management of the HPSEBL.
