An open rally for the recruitment of soldiers under the Agnipath scheme will be held from August 29 to September 8 at the Sujanpur Tira ground in the district, said a press release issued by Colonel Sanjeev Kumar, Director of the Army Recruitment Center, Hamirpur, today.
The recruitment will be held for youths of Hamirpur, Una and Bilaspur districts.
The last date for submitting online applications for participating in the rally is July 30 and the aspiring youths can apply on the Indian Army website http://www.joinindianarmy.nic.in, the press release read. The youths, who have qualified matriculation or equivalent examinations can apply for Agniveer (general duty), Agniveer (technical), Agniveer (clerk/store keeper – technical) and Agniveer (tradesman), while those having Class VIII pass certificates can apply for Agniveer (tradesman).
Colonel Sanjeev Kumar said that the age of the applicants should be between 17 and 23 years as on October 1, 2022, and they should bring all original documents for verification during the rally.
He cautioned the applicants to be careful of anti-social elements, who promise selection in lieu of money. He added that the recruitment process was fully transparent and independent observers would be present at the rally to check malpractices.
