AK Panda, Vice-Chancellor, CSK Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University, Palampur, has assured the HPAU Pensioners’ Sabha that all its demands, which could be resolved at the university level, would be addressed on priority. The assurance was given during the first meeting of the newly elected executive body of the sabha with the university administration held here today.

SP Sharma, president of the sabha, apprised the university administration that several issues were unnecessarily pending with different sections of the university, including the issuance of the revised pension payment orders for staff members who had retired between 2016 and 2022, non-enhancement of pension allowances after the completion of five years at the age of 65, 70, 75 and 80 years, and the issuance of proper identity cards to retirees to enable them to avail of medical and other entitlement benefits, etc.

Sharma requested the Vice-Chancellor to take up such matters on priority. He also requested Panda to strengthen the pensioners’ cell of the university for better functioning. SK Upadhyay, general secretary of the sabha, said that the meeting was held in a very cordial environment. Registrar Madhu Chaudhary and Comptroller Neeraj Sud represented the university administration. Several office-bearers of the sabha’s executive body, including vice-president Rajinder Singh, joint secretary JP Thakur, cashier Virender Katoch, and joint cashier Suman Sharma and members Bhagwan Dev and Sant Kumar attended the meeting.
