Following the incident, the Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Tewari immediately issued orders, directing all the Superintendents of Police (SPs) to remain vigilant and alert, especially in border and sensitive areas of the state. The DGP has directed the SPs to maintain surveillance over suspicious vehicles, abandoned objects and unusual movements as well as to ensure close coordination with local agencies and sister departments.
Along with this, police has also issued a public advisory urging people to remain alert and not to panic. The DGP stressed that public cooperation is essential for maintaining peace and security.
People have been advised to immediately inform the nearest police station or dial the emergency number 112 if they spot any suspicious object, unattended bag or vehicle. Police has also appealed to the people to not believe in rumours or circulate unverified information being shared on social media and messaging platforms to avoid panic among the masses. Furthermore, people have been requested to remain cautious in crowded and sensitive locations and to fully cooperate with the police during security checks.
Along with this, people have been urged to immediately report any suspicious activities being done by any unknown or suspicious persons in their areas to the police to ensure prompt action.
“The state police have strengthened surveillance and security arrangements across all districts, especially in border and sensitive areas. People's alertness and timely information are crucial for overall security in the state,” said the DGP.
