A one-day animal birth control and anti-rabies vaccination camp was organised at the sub-divisional level by the Animal Husbandry Department in Jeori under the Animal Welfare Month. This camp was held at the sub-divisional Veterinary Hospital, Jeori, under the chairmanship of Senior Veterinary Officer Dr Anil Chauhan.

During the programme, birth control surgery was done on 10 female dogs. Anti-rabies vaccination was also provided to the animals. The camp was conducted with the cooperation of the local panchayat and Human People Organisation.

To make the camp effective, Dr Anil Chauhan formed three medical teams were and three surgeries were conducted simultaneously. The experts present in the camp, Dr Anil Sharma (Veterinary Officer, Multidisciplinary Veterinary Hospital, Rampur), Dr Akshay Kumar (veterinary surgeon), Dr Harish (veterinary gynaecologist), Dr Devendra and other medical assistants.

Dr Anil Chauhan said the cooperation of the local administration, panchayat, voluntary organisations and public plays an important role in the success of such programmes. Vice-Pradhan of the local panchayat Arun Sharma, Sunil and Gaurav Sood of the Vyapar Mandal, and volunteers of Human People Organisation — Pooja Negi, Rajat Negi and Payal Mehta — also helped during the camp.
