Higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh are set to experience another spell of snowfall, accompanied by rain in several mid-hill areas, beginning February 9, according to the State Meteorological Department.
The department has forecast light snowfall and rain at isolated places in Kangra, Kullu, Kinnaur, Chamba and Lahaul and Spiti districts on February 9. Weather in the remaining parts of the state is expected to remain largely clear on the day. However, precipitation activity is likely to intensify across Himachal Pradesh on February 10, prompting the Met Department to issue a yellow warning for Shimla, Kangra, Mandi, Chamba, Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti districts. The warning indicates the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at isolated locations.
Meanwhile, weather conditions remained mostly dry across the state during the past 24 hours, with bright sunshine prevailing in most areas. Minimum temperatures were near normal and ranged between minus 14°C and 10°C. Maximum temperatures, however, were 2°C to 5°C above normal in several regions, fluctuating between 2°C and 25°C.
