Auckland students qualify for national ice skating tourney

In a significant achievement, four students from Auckland House School (AHS) and Auckland House School for Boys (AHSB) have qualified for the National Ice Skating Championship, following their commendable performance at the Himachal Ice Skating Association’s State Championship and training camp held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, from April 18.

Representing Shimla district, which secured the overall first position with 10 gold, six silver, and three bronze medals, the students delivered outstanding performances across categories. Moksh Sharma (AHSB) won the gold in the senior category, Samarth Attri (AHSB) secured the gold in the Junior B, and Reyansh Verma (AHSB) earned a bronze in Junior C. Swaranjali Thakur Nirala (AHS) added to the achievement by winning a silver medal in the 300-metres event.

The students were trained under the expert guidance of coach Pankaj Prabhakar, whose dedicated mentorship contributed significantly to their success.

The Director-Principal of Auckland House School, Smaraki Samantaroy, expressed immense pride in the students’ accomplishments and lauded their dedication and discipline. Reuben John, Principal of Auckland House School for Boys, also congratulated the achievers and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence at the national level.
