The National Informatics Centre (NIC) today organised an awareness session at Himachal Pradesh State Secretariat, focusing on safe & responsible use of the internet on the theme ‘Smart-tech, safe-choices: Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI,’ to mark Safer Internet Day.
The session was attended by over 100 participants.
It aimed to enhance cyber awareness and responsible use of digital platforms in government functioning covering key aspects such as cyber hygiene, safe browsing practices, protection of personal and official data and awareness regarding common cyber threats.
All the NIC district centres and its offices also conducted similar awareness sessions on safe internet practices.
The State Department of Digital Technologies and Governance (DDTG) also observed Safer Internet Day at IT Bhawan here today with the objective of promoting cyber awareness and encouraging safe and responsible use of the internet. Nipun Jindal, Director, DDTG, presided over the function as chief guest. Officers and officials of DDTG along with representatives from associated organisations were present on the occasion. A detailed presentation on cyber safety, digital awareness, and emerging cyber threats was given during the programme.
Addressing the participants, Jindal highlighted the importance of cyber hygiene, safe digital practices and responsible online behaviour. He shared information about various cyber security tools, applications and preventive measures that can help in ensuring a safer digital ecosystem.
