Hamirpur, September 15
As many as 27 wine and beer bars will open in the district from tomorrow as per the guidelines specified by the government. The bars in the district were closed, following the announcement of lockdown on March 22. Over 200 persons and families were affected due to the closure of bars, and the operators were repeatedly requesting the government to resume their functioning.
Meanwhile, Narvinder Singh, State Assistant Commissioner, Excise and Taxation, said a meeting was organised to apprise the bar operators of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to control the spread of Coivd-19. He said they were advised to keep a record of every visitor. It was mandatory to check the temperature of every visitor and refrain from attending those with fever or any other symptoms. The violation in following the SOPs will lead to penalties or termination of the bar licence. — OC
