2006-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and Inspector general of Police (Welfare and Administration) Bimal Gupta has been transferred to the post of Inspector general of Police, State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Himachal Pradesh.

An official notification regarding his transfer has been issued by the state government today. As per the notification, Bimal Gupta has been directed to join as IGP with immediate effect. He has earlier served as Superintendent of Police (SP) State vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Crime, CID and as Principal at Himachal Pradesh Police Training College, Daroh in Kangra district.
