State BJP president Rajeev Bindal on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, accusing it of failing to fulfil key promises made during the last Assembly elections.
Addressing party workers in Palampur, Bindal said the people of the state had grown disillusioned with the policies and programmes of the present government. He alleged that several welfare initiatives introduced during the previous BJP regime, including Ayushman Bharat and Himcare Schemes extending free health care in the state, have either been discontinued or diluted, causing hardship to beneficiaries. Bindal claimed that financial assistance to critically ill patients has not been released in a timely manner. “The government has lost the moral right to remain in office as it has failed to deliver on its commitments and address pressing public concerns,” Bindal said, adding that the widening gap between promises and performance has led to growing public dissatisfaction across the state.
The BJP chief said recent incidents reported from across the state pointed to a decline in governance standards and the government’s inability to maintain public order. The state government had not responded to Bindal’s allegations at the time of filing of this report.
