The unemployed youth of the country is still awaiting jobs as the BJP government at the Centre headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which promised two crore jobs every year, has miserably failed to keep its poll promise, said All India Congress Committee general secretary and state incharge Rajni Patil while addressing aprty workers at Nahan on Sunday.

The BJP, which promised 50 per cent reservation to women, even failed to provide 33 per cent quota to them, foreign policy has backfired, Pakistan is actively indulging in malpractices across the border and Chinese intervention in Nepal has diluted the India- Nepal relations, she added.

Exhorting the workers to work hard at the ground level to ensure Congress victory in the Lok Sabha elections slated in 2019, she said that the general public was aware of the reality of false promises made by the BJP and the atmosphere was in favour of the Congress. Taking a dig at the state government, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said the people of the state were dissatisfied with the government performance in just six months, women and girls were feeling insecure and employees were being oppressed.

The cost of LPG cylinder had increased from Rs 350 under the Congress regime to Rs 800- 850. Claiming that development had come to a standstill, he also sought report on development from the local MP Virender Kashyap.
