BJP launches Maha-Prashikshan workshop in Nahan for Shimla constituency
Launching a sharp attack on the Congress government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Bindal alleged that instead of focusing on governance, the state leadership was indulging in protest politics
A workshop of the BJP for the Shimla parliamentary constituency was inaugurated at the party’s district office in Nahan today under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Maha-Prashikshan Abhiyan-2026. The programme was attended by BJP Himachal in-charge Shrikant Sharma, Members of Parliament, MLAs and senior office-bearers from the Shimla parliamentary segment.
Organisational subjects formed the core of the deliberations, including booth management, achievements of the Central Government, the party’s ideological foundation, the history and growth of the BJP, organisational functioning and the effective use of social media. State BJP president Rajeev Bindal said the statewide training drive had already commenced, with the first workshop held in Sundernagar and the second now organised in Nahan.
He informed that the next workshop would be held in Una, to be inaugurated by Anurag Thakur and concluded by Jai Ram Thakur. Subsequent sessions are scheduled for Kangra on February 24 and Mandi on February 25, where senior leaders and functionaries will participate.
Bindal stated that after workshops are conducted in all four parliamentary constituencies, training camps will be organised at the mandal level, with a target of completing 171 sessions before March and April 14. Highlighting organisational expansion, he said the BJP has enrolled around 17 lakh primary members and 25,000 active members, and has constituted 775 booth committees. Additionally, 171 mandals, 17 organisational districts and seven morchas have been structured to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
Launching a sharp attack on the Congress government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Bindal alleged that instead of focusing on governance, the state leadership was indulging in protest politics. He remarked that ministers participating in dharnas over issues such as MGNREGA reflected an unusual situation.
