MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal termed the Union Budget as decisive here yesterday. He said it was a historic document that would lay a strong foundation for a developed India. He said that the budget outlined a clear action plan for welfare of poor, farmers and women. He said it would also promote skill development and entrepreneurship and generate employment for youth. He added that increased investments in roads, health, education, digital India, startups and infrastructure would accelerate the country’s economic momentum and extend development benefits to hill states like Himachal Pradesh, adding that the state government was obstructing development in the state.
Former MLA Dr Anil Dhimaan highlighted the benefits of the VB-G RAM-G scheme, stating it would accelerate rural development by providing 125 days of employment to workers instead of 100. He explained that the scheme would strengthen water conservation, irrigation, roads, schools, housing, sanitation, fisheries and animal husbandry, skill development, and self-help group workplaces. He described the budget as a golden opportunity for medical tourism in Himachal Pradesh.
Meanwhile former MLAs Rajinder Rana, Kamlesh Kumari and Vijay Agnihotri also hailed the Union Budget, terming it developmental and for welfare of weaker section of the society.
