Kanshi Ram Bharti, a retired IAS officer and state convenor of the BJP research cell, on Monday called on former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal at his residence in Samirpur village near Hamirpur. He was accompanied by Hamirpur district coordinator Dr Vinay Soni.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhumal said the objective of the party’s research cell was to organise ideological, policy-based and research-oriented work of the BJP. He said that the cell played a crucial role in policy research, community-based studies and in the review and preparation of the preamble to the party’s public welfare schemes.
He added that empowering research cell cadres would enable the party to systematically formulate policies, study social change and analyse public issues, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of decision-making and programmes.
Dhumal extended his best wishes to Bharti and Dr Soni for their new responsibilities. “It is very important in today’s time to develop problem-solving abilities, thought studies and an in-depth perspective on subjects related to public interest through research cells,” he said, exhorting them to carry forward organisational work with excellence and dedication.
Bharti expressed gratitude to Dhumal for his affection, guidance and support. He said Prof. Dhumal’s experience and foresight were an invaluable source of inspiration and that, with his blessings, the research cell would be able to give a new direction in line with public interest and the ideological values of the party.
