Shimla, April 17

BJP vice-president Ganesh Dutt today submitted a memorandum to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) through Deputy Commissioner, Shimla, against Congress president Rahul Gandhi demanding action against him for attributing his personal remarks as that of the apex court and said that he should be restricted from addressing public rallies.

The BJP leaders said that the Supreme Court has agreed to hear a contempt petition filed by the BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi seeking criminal contempt action against the Congress president for his remarks against PM Narendra Modi on the recent Rafale verdict.

Lekhi had said that Rahul has attributed his personal remarks as that of the apex court and tried to create prejudice, said Dutt. — TNS
