British citizen found dead in Shimla hotel

According to the police, a resident of Kaithu informed them that a foreign national, who was staying in room No. 103 of his hotel, was lying unconscious. A police team along with the DSP reached the hotel and found the body lying on the floor of the hotel room.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Moss had consumed a small quantity of alcohol. The police then thoroughly searched the room, collected evidence and took the possession of the necessary belongings of the deceased. The body was then taken to the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) and Hospital, Shimla, for a postmortem examination.
Shimla SSP Gaurav Singh said that the police had informed the UK Embassy regarding the incident and further action as per Section 194 (suicide) of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS)-2023 would be taken after receiving its response.
