Bus rams into hill in Shillai

The private bus ramed into a hill on Shillai-Ronhat road in Sirmaur.

As many as 13 passengers were injured when a private bus (HP-17-C-7015) they were travelling in rammed into hill near Chovogar in Shillai subdivision of Sirmaur district this afternoon. The bus was en route to Shillai-Ronhat and had started the journey around 11 am.

DSP, Paonta Sahib, Bir Bahadur said of the 15 passengers on board, 13 suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Shillai hospital. Three passengers were discharged after first-aid while 10 others were undergoing treatment.

Locals helped in evacuating and carrying the injured to the hospital. The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. As per to a preliminary police probe, brake failure can be reason behind the accident as the driver rammed the bus into the hills to save the passengers.
