Mandi, December 1
Himachal Road Transport Corporation resumed its bus service on the Manali-Keylong road today, which delighted the residents of the Lahaul valley.
Since last week, residents of the Lahaul valley had been cut off from the road facility because heavy snowfall had blocked the Manali-Keylong highway. The Border Roads Organisation had restored this road two days ago for traffic movement. Yesterday, the HRTC authority at Keylong had conducted a bus trial on this road successfully to resume the bus service for the convenience of residents of the Lahaul valley.
Mangal Manepa, Regional Manager of the HRTC depot at Keylong, said the bus service had been resumed between Manali and Keylong today. He said from Keylong, the HRTC bus would move to Kullu at 10 am and return to Keylong from Kullu at 2 pm. Similarly from Kullu, the bus will move to Keylong at 8.30 am and move back to Kullu from Keylong at 2 pm. He said the availability of bus service would depend on weather and road conditions in the region in the coming days. The HRTC authority would make every possible effort to continue the bus service on this route for the convenience of tribals in the region.
