Cattle pounds to get power at domestic rates: Minister

Rural Development and Animal Husbandry Minister Virender Kanwar today said the government had decided to give power connection to cattle pounds at domestic rate.

At a meeting with administrators of cattle pounds, Kanwar said the government was reimbursing 50 per cent cost of cattle feed in shelters being managed by private parties.

Such cattle pounds should be run by a society having at least five members and two of them should be government officials. Later, Kanwar presided over a meeting of BPL families at Thanakalan and directed officials to link all 810 families of Bangana subdivision with government welfare schemes. — OC
