Nurpur, September 30
CCTV cameras, installed by the Mining Department on the Chakki riverbed, were stolen on Saturday night. The police are suspecting it to be a handiwork of the mining mafia.
The department had installed the cameras at Khanni and Tipri in Nurpur. These too were found missing along with the wires on Sunday. The mining officer, Nurpur, on receiving information filed a complaint with the Nurpur police.
Nurpur DSP Sahil Arora said a cas had been registered. He said the police would examine the CCTV footage of both stolen cameras. — OC
