KANGRA: Waterlogging on 1-km stretch between the new and old bus stand following heavy rain that was inconveniencing the public prompted the authorities to raze cement slabs in front of 80 shops which had choked the drain beneath.

Kangra, July 15

Waterlogging on 1-km stretch between the new and old bus stand following heavy rain that was inconveniencing the public prompted the authorities to raze cement slabs in front of 80 shops which had choked the drain beneath.

SDM Kangra Shashi Pal Negi said the cement slabs in front of nearly 80 shops were removed and the drain was cleared. He said shopkeepers were warned to desist from putting cement slabs on the drain. He said private water supply pipes passing across the drain were also removed. He said there was resistance at some places, but later things were sorted out. — OC
