He was speaking while chairing a virtual meeting with the representatives of Eligo Creative Service Private Ltd. regarding the development of the app.
The DC said various groups such as Aapda Mitra, NASSCOM Foundation’s Digital Ambassadors, SVEEP volunteers, blood donor groups, self-help groups, ASHA workers and members of several other voluntary organisations actively support the administration. However, the absence of a unified digital list of all these volunteers often created challenges in sending timely alerts and establishing coordination during emergency situations.
He said that the “Chamba Saathi” app was being developed as a workflow-based modern volunteer management system. It would maintain real-time updated information of all present and future volunteers trained by different departments, enabling quick dissemination of initial communication through SMSes and emails.
The DC said the volunteers would be able to update their contact details directly through the app. The administration would also have digital access to the records of training sessions, mock drills, programmes and activities on a single platform.
He directed the representatives of Eligo Creative Service Private Ltd. to ensure that the app should be simple, user-friendly and error-free. The District Employment Officer was instructed to coordinate with the company and ensure timely completion of the project.
