Held under the theme “Commonwealth Solutions to Global Challenges,” the summit focused on key global issues such as artificial intelligence, sustainable energy, infrastructure, health technologies, creative industries and finance. It also featured closed-door roundtables aimed at fostering practical solutions and strategic partnerships.

Kumar Anubhav spoke at a high-level roundtable on ‘Balancing Growth and Preservation in Global Tourism’, which focused on strengthening public-private partnerships, leveraging blended finance, promoting eco-tourism and cultural tourism and investing in skill development and entrepreneurship.

Highlighting India’s grassroots approach, Kumar advocated for a bottom-up investment model in developing countries, stressing that sustainable tourism must be driven by local communities rather than top-down capital flows. He underlined the importance of empowering rural entrepreneurs and preserving cultural authenticity as central pillars of long-term tourism growth.

NotOnMap’s model — spanning over 4,500 homestays across 14 Indian states and positively impacting more than 46,000 lives — was cited as a successful example of inclusive tourism that balances economic development with cultural and ecological preservation.
