Himachal CM felicitates achievers with state-level awards

Civil servants, sportspersons, healthcare institutions and grassroots contributors honoured for excellence and service

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday honoured distinguished individuals and institutions with the state-level awards at a function held in Reckong Peo, Kinnaur. The awards recognised exceptional contributions across governance, sports, healthcare and social service, highlighting efforts that have brought pride to the state.

The Civil Services Award was conferred in both institutional and individual categories. Mandi DC Apoorv Devgan, along with the Department of Digital Technology and Governance, received the award in the departmental category for administrative excellence. In the individual category, Balh SDM (Mandi) Smritika Negi was honoured for her notable service delivery and governance initiatives.

Under the Prerna Srot Samman, Charu Sharma from Shimla district and Chhonzin Angmo from Kinnaur were recognised in the individual category. The group category celebrated members of the Indian National Women’s Kabaddi Team from the state, including Ritu Negi, Sakshi Sharma, Pushpa, Bhawan Devi and Champa Thakur, acknowledging their achievements in sports and role in inspiring youth. The Department of Urology at Chamiyana Hospital was also honoured for its contribution to public healthcare.

The Himachal Gaurav Award was presented to Padma Shri awardee Prem Lal Gautam, Dr OP Sharma, Dr Brij Sharma, Harleen Kaur and Sneh Lata for their distinguished work in their respective fields.

In addition, district-level awards were given to police personnel and Public Works Department officials from Kinnaur for exemplary service, including ASI Vikas Guleria, Head Constable Lalit Kumar and others.

The Chief Minister also distributed land ownership documents to 24 families under the Forest Rights Act and extended financial assistance to nine beneficiaries for house construction. Parade contingents and cultural performers were also felicitated during the function, reflecting the spirit of public service and community participation.
