CM launches health plans in Mandi

MANDI: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday inaugurated OPD/IPD, Trauma Centre of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College and Nursing College at Nerchowk in Mandi district.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday inaugurated OPD/IPD, Trauma Centre of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College and Nursing College at Nerchowk in Mandi district.

During a function organised on the medical college premises, the Chief Minister also launched four health schemes, Mukhya Mantri Chikitsa Raahat Kosh, Mukhya Mantri Rajya Swasthya Dekhbhal Yojana, Health Protection Scheme and Telemedicine Scheme for Pangi in Chamba district.

Thakur announced to open Atal Medical and Research University in Ner Chowk medical college and also announced the enhancing of monthly pay of Medical Officers appointed on contract basis by Rs 10,000 and that of Specialist Medical Officers on contract basis by Rs 15,000 per month.

Earlier, he laid foundation stones of staff quarters of Civil Hospital, Sundernagar and overhead foot bridge at Lalit Chowk, Sundernagar. He announced to provide digital X-ray machine for the hospital besides enhancing the bed capacity from 100 to 150 beds. He also announced Rs 30 lakh for the Mukhya Mantri Bhawan in Balh and upgrading Middle School, Sarkidhar, to high school.
