Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed senior officers across all districts to ensure active and effective implementation of the Apna Vidyalaya — Himachal School Adoption Programme, aimed at strengthening the quality of education in government schools.
Chairing a virtual meeting with all Deputy Commissioners, the CM instructed that a comprehensive list of schools adopted under the programme across the state be submitted to the government by January 5. Under the initiative, officers at the district and sub-divisional levels are required to adopt government schools and work as mentors to improve academic outcomes and overall school functioning.
The CM said Deputy Commissioners, along with senior officers such as Superintendents of Police and SDMs, are mandated to adopt at least four schools each.
