At a time when Himachal is grappling with a financial crisis, Gokul Butail, Adviser to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has set an example by opting to draw a token salary of just one rupee. Butail, a native of Palampur, has made the city proud through his gesture of public responsibility.

These positions not only carry substantial salaries but also entail expenses on official vehicles, staff, accommodation and other perks, further burdening the state exchequer.
