College NGO cleans tourist spot


Helping Hands, an NGO started by students of Government College, Chamba, collected 150 kg of waste from Khadota, a tourist spot near Dharamsala. The garbage was given to the MC, Dharamsala, for disposal. The NGO said its activists would clean the areas every Sunday. The NGO, formed in 2018, has been working in the fields of education and environment.

SFI slams New Education Policy

While conducting its 36th seminar, the SFI unit of Himachal Pradesh University raised slogans against the New Education Policy (NEP). Inaugurating the seminar, SFI state secretary Amit said the state was withdrawing subsidised education and preparing to hand over education to private players. He further said several colleges in the country and the state lacked proper infrastructure and faculty, which showed that the BJP government at the Centre and the state were not serious about education.

Edu Trust collects clothes for needy

The Sunil Upadhyay Education Trust collected clothes from citizens for distributing them among the needy. Trust secretary Surender Sharma said like every year, the trust was collecting clothes for the needy and people were showing enthusiasm in donating clothes. He said the trust had been organising various programmes such as blood donation camps for the benefit of people.
