Thousands of devotees of Satya Sai today thronged the remote village of Naleti in Dehra subdivision and made offerings in 1008 havan kunds on Makar Sankranti, despite heavy rain and inclement weather.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, who visited Naleti, lit the lamp this morning to inaugurate the 1008 havan kund mahayagya organised by the Satya Sai Seva Organisation (SSSO).

State chief, SSSO, Shayam Sunder said more than 12,000 devotees from the state and neighbouring states of Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana made offerings during the yagya.

Former Chief Minister PK Dhumal, along with Vikram Thakur, MLA Jaswan, and former MLAs Rakesh Pathania and Parveen Sharma attended the culmination of the yagya. Dhumal made offerings in havan kund and performed puja in the temple before the yagya concluded.
