Youth with good moral values and education make a great nation.
This was stated by Governor Acharya Devvrat while presiding over a prize distribution ceremony of the group song competition, organised by the Bharat Vikas Parishad at Makri-Markand panchayat of Sadar development block in Bilaspur district today.
He said the youth always played a vital role in the country’s development and it was the duty of elders to guide them in achieving their goals in their lives and also contributing towards the betterment of the nation. He stressed that it was important to inculcate moral values and virtues in children from the very beginning so that they grew up as disciplined and responsible citizens.
He expressed concern over the fact that today the younger generation was not much concerned with the cultural heritage and it was our responsibility to make them aware of the importance of rich culture and high values.
Acharya Devvrat said the Britishers ruled India for a long period of time and Lord Macaulay strategically destroyed our education system. Today, we needed to preserve our culture and give good values to our children so that no force could harm our culture and integrity. He also urged students to read the biographies of great leaders and thinkers so that they got inspiration to lead a successful life.
He announced Rs 51,000 to the parishad for implementing its activities. The Governor released a souvenir of the parishad and distributed prizes among the winners.
