The Congress legislature party on Thursday boycotted the ongoing Vidhan Sabha session and sat on dharna outside the Assembly to protest the suspension of five MLAs.
The protesting Congress MLAs were joined by former chief minister Virbhadra Singh.
The Congress has been locking horns with the Himachal government from day one of the budget session, which began on February 26, following the suspension of five MLAs for the entire session till March 20.
Five Congress legislators, including CLP Leader Mukesh Agnihotri, were suspended for the current session following a ruckus after the Governor’s address. An FIR has also been registered against all five for raising slogans and obstructing the vehicle of the Governor.
Congress is demanding the revocation of the suspension of its MLAs.
State Congress president Kuldeep Rathore also joined the protesting CLP as all legislators, including Virbhadra, along with Mukesh Agnihotri sat outside the gate of the Vidhan Sabha.
