Congress ‘lacks political acumen’

The decision of the Congress legislators to register their protest against denial of opportunity to speak in the Vidhan Sabha by the Speaker is drawing sharp criticism. “Rather than sitting inside, raising issues and cornering the government, the Congress MLAs staged walkouts on the most frivolous issues, which clearly shows their political immaturity,” said a senior leader. He said sitting on the floor outside the Speaker’s office and then holding dharna in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue is no political acumen. There can be no better place to hit out at the government with facts and figures, he said. The general perception is that the Congress is only keen to make headlines rather than hold serious debates and expose the BJP Government’s shortcomings.

Infighting in Kangra BJP

Infighting within the BJP in Kangra district is refusing to die. Sources here said that now a prominent OBC leader from the district is contemplating open rebellion. The issue of transfer of an officer in Dehra region has become a bone of contention between the BJP leader and an independent MLA in which the latter prevailed. The source said that the supporters of the BJP MLA were urging him to adopt a direct confrontationist path. The MLA has till date desisted from going into open confrontation. However, in the coming days if pressuisred by his supporters another OBC leader might give tough time of the present government.

Factionalism in state BJP to the fore

Kangana Ranaut

Factionalism in the state BJP was clearly visible as several demonstrations were held across the state when cine star Kangana Ranaut’s office was razed in Mumbai but when Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary belittled Union Minister for State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Anurag Thakur, the BJP leaders were hesitant to even condemn it. The myopic view adopted by BJP leaders towards its own clan has left the common man wondering how well they will serve their interests when they can’t even extend a word in favour of their own party’s Central leader. Will you call it sycophancy or deteriorating value system in politics.
