Himachal Pradesh on Monday reported six new cases of coronavirus, taking the state’s case tally to 1,527.

Sirmaur reported the six new cases of the deadly disease, taking the total in the district to 95.

Among those who tested positive are a two-year-old boy and a 3-year old girl. The mothers of both the children had tested positive on Sunday.

DC, Sirmaur, Dr RK Pruthi, said apart from the two children, a man, aged 35, and three women aged 21, 24 and 47, tested positive.

One woman hails from Kala Amb and she is admitted to a hospital. Her contact history was being traced. All others hail from Govindgarh Mohalla in Nahan and they are the contacts of patients who had tested previously. All patients were shifted to the COVID care centre (CCC) at Trilokpur. There were 55 active cases in the district—the second-highest after Solan.

“With the CCC Trilokpur facing an overwhelming rush of patients, the district administration was now exploring the possibility of setting up two more such centres in hotels,” said Dr Pruthi.

He said they were also monitoring the recovery rate of the patients and apart from two patients who had recovered in 25 days, the other 30 had recovered in 10 to 15 days in the district.

Notably, Nahan is the lone town in the state which was sealed from Saturday to Tuesday morning to prevent a community spread after 10 marriage attendees had tested positive on Friday.
