Shimla, September 14
The state recorded 368 new Covid cases today, taking the case tally to 9,923. Besides five deaths were also reported from the state, taking the fatality figure to 80.
The highest number of 106 positive cases were reported from Solan followed by 101 from Mandi, 55 from Kangra, 30 from Una, 28 from Shimla, 12 from Bilaspur, 10 from Lahaul-Spiti, six from Chamba and four from Hamirpur. The number of active cases in the state was 3,666.
2 die in Kangra
Two more deaths were reported from Kangra district, taking the total number of coronavirus fatalities in the district to 16.
The first Covid victim was the 72-year-old person of Latwara village near Palampur. The second victim was 62-year-person of Kangra, who had diabetes and hypertension. He was initially admitted to the Zonal Hospital, Dharamsala, yesterday, but was referred to Tanda medical college where he expired.
Meanwhile, DC, Kangra, Rakesh Prajapati, who was suffering from the infection, was shifted to Tanda medical college. CMO GD Gupta said the conditon of the DC was stable.
21 in BBN belt infected
As many as 106 persons, including 21 from the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) belt, tested positive in Solan district. They included two medical officers, a policeman and a bank employee.
Medical Officer, Solan, Dr NK Gupta said nine persons from Parwanoo, 26 from Solan, two from Dharampur, three from Kasauli and 21 from the BBN belt tested positive in the district. Of these, 70 per cent patients were the direct contacts of coronavirus patients.
Meanwhile, 10 cases were detected from Paonta Sahib and Nahan in Sirmaur district district.
