Leader of the Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri said on Sunday that the BJP had no right to speak about women safety as over 1,503 rape cases were reported in the past four-and-a-half-years of its government in the state.

Agnihotri, while addressing a Congress workers’ meeting at Sujanpur, near here, said that former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had handed over the Gudiya rape and murder case to the CBI and Congress leader Pratibha Singh had visited the victim’s house and offered every help to her family. He added that besides rape cases, thousands of cases of women harassment and domestic violence had been reported in the state.
