The Dalai Lama has returned to his home in McLeodganj on Friday morning following a two-month sojourn in Mundgod, Karnataka.

He had travelled to the Drepung Gomang Monastery in the Doeguling Tibetan Settlement, Mundgod, on December 12, 2025, where he presided over many religious functions during his stay.

On his arrival at Kangra airport, senior political leaders and bureaucrats of the Central Tibetan Administration received him with reverence. Devotees, both Tibetans and non-Tibetans, lined the route from the airport to the Tsuglagkhang Monastery in Mcleodganj, holding ceremonial scarves and burning incense to welcome him.
