Dharamsala, July 8

Accepting a request of Buddhist Council of Leh region, The Dalai Lama will visit the city from July 14. This will be the first time that the Dalai Lama will move out of his Dharamsala-based residence after the outbreak of Covid in March 2020.

Since the outbreak of pandemic, the Dalai Lama had restricted his movements and also meetings.

However, he continued his teachings through virtual mediums. The sources said the time period of the visit has not been finalised. It would depend on how well the Dalai Lama was able to adapt to high altitude of the area, they added. The Dalai Lama turned 87 on July 6.
