The tragic death of 22-year-old Nisha, a native of Seru village in Mandi district, has sent shockwaves through her family and the local community. Nisha’s body was discovered in a canal in Patiala yesterday, sparking allegations of foul play from her family.

According to Hans Raj, Nisha’s father, his daughter was befriended by a man, identified as a youth from Fatehpur, who was reportedly serving in the Punjab Police. The accused concealed his marital status and his fatherhood from Nisha, only for her to discover the truth later. Upon learning of his deception, Nisha confronted the man, which reportedly led to threats being made against her.

The situation took a sinister turn when Nisha, after returning to Chandigarh from her home in Jogindernagar, was allegedly approached by the accused police officer. Hans Raj claims that the accused took his daughter to a secluded area near a canal in Ropar on Monday, where he is believed to have committed the crime.

The family of the deceased is demanding a thorough investigation and has called for the accused to face the death penalty. They have also appealed for the support of the Mandi Superintendent of Police in ensuring justice is served. The tragic incident has left the family devastated.
