DCs, SPs to address public grievances twice a week

On the directions of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, all Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and SPs in the state will listen to public grievances in their offices on Monday and Thursday every week.

The Secretary, Administrative Reforms, issued a notice in this regard here today. As per the notification, if Monday or Thursday happens to be a public holiday, the Deputy Commissioners would attend to their duties the next working day. The directive was also applicable to the SPs in all districts.

The Chief Minister had given these instructions during the Deputy Commissioners and the SPs conference held in Shimla on November 7 and 8. The Chief Minister had emphasised the need for timely resolution of public issues to avoid unnecessary delay in solving their grievances.
