Shimla, October 17

Dr Lokender Sharma, Medical Superintendent of Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital, where a 54-year-old Covid patient from Chopal in Shimla committed suicide on September 22, has been charge-sheeted on the basis of an inquiry report submitted by Additional District Magistrate Prabha Rajeev.

He has been charged with misleading the inquiry officer by furnishing wrong information.

Not just Dr Sharma, the doctor and nurse posted in the Covid ward on the night of September 22 and the para-medical staff too have been charge-sheeted by the Director, Health Services.

The charge-sheet points to mismanagement and lack of supervision. —TNS
