Shimla, August 8

Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vipin Parmar today said that he would disclose his decision on the petition and complaints received seeking the disqualification of two Independent MLAs, who had joined the BJP, on the first day of the monsoon session on August 10.

Parmar, while addressing mediapersons here, said that the Vidhan Sabha had already intimated the petitioner and the complainants about the status of their petition and complaints. “As per rules, they are still Independent MLAs in the House. I will disclose my decision in the House,” he added.

He said that the issue of disqualification of MLAs Hoshiyar Siungh from Dehra in Kangra and Prakash Rana from Jogindernagar in Mandi district was decided after examining all aspects and documents attached with the complaints. “I am from the BJP but when I sit on the chair of the Speaker, I act in the most impartial and fair manner,” he added.

The Speaker said that the monsoon session beginning on August 10 would have four sittings till August 13. He added that the session would start with offering tributes to the members of the House, who had passed away since the Budget session.
