The Cabinet decision to defer the winter session of the Assembly at Tapovan in Dharamsala has been taken in public interest and in view of the surge in the Covid cases, said state BJP chief Suresh Kashyap here today.

“The state government is sensitive regarding the pandemic, working at the ground level and taking necessary decisions, as and when required, after reviewing the situation,” he told mediapersons.

Kashyap said Covid patients were being contacted through the CM’s helpline to enquire after their well-being and information was also being sought about the facilities made available to them.

He said the Chief Minister had directed all deputy commissioners to inspect the designated Covid hospitals and testing laboratories. The construction of pre-fabricated Covid centres was being done on a war footing.

The state BJP chief accused the Congress of indulging in a negative criticism of the government on the Covid handling.
