Shimla, April 17
While welcoming the government’s announcement to grant 50 per cent discount to women in Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses, the HRTC employees have drawn the government’s attention towards their pending dues.
“Such announcement has a direct bearing on the financial health of the corporation. While we welcome the decision. The problem is when we demand our pending dues and benefits of the 6th Pay Commission, we are told about the losses the HRTC is suffering,” Himachal Transport Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) secretary Khemender Gupta.
Gupta further said such benefits could be extended to people of the state effectively when the financial health of the HRTC is taken care of. “For this, the HRTC should be declared a roadways, which will make employees free of financial and mental stress,” he said.
