Dharamsala: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested two scribes of social media channels on charges of extorting Rs 50,000 from a private school management in Kangra. The SP (Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau), in a release, said a complaint was received from the school management alleging blackmail by the scribes. The vigilance set up a trap and arrested the two red-handed accepting Rs 25,000 each from the management. A case under Sections 308 (2) and 3 (5) of the Bhartiya Nayaya Sanhita has been registered against the accused. tnS

Asha Bhatia is Baijnath MC chief

Palampur: Asha Bhatia was elected president of the Baijnath Municipal Council in an election held on Tuesday. Rajan Chaudhary was elected vice president. The election was necessitated after the previous president had failed to prove her majority.
