The Atal Institute of Medical Super Specialties (AIMSS), Chamiyana in Shimla district, has launched a dialysis facility, which will be available to admitted patients. “We have started the dialysis facility for patients admitted to the hospital. Many patients need dialysis while undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailments,” said Dr Sudhir Sharma, Medical Superintendent, AIMSS, Chamiyana.

Dr Sharma said that the facility was available at the IGMC, Shimla, until now and patients requiring dialysis had to be shifted there. “Now, we can handle up to six dialysis patients at a time,” he added. Once outside the hospital, patients generally get dialysis done at private centres under a government scheme.
