Discipline and consistent effort are key to success, said Himachal Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani while addressing students at Swami Vivekanand Government College, Ghumarwin, during the annual prize distribution function today. He said students who adopt discipline and continuous effort early on multiply their chances of success. He motivated students to set goals and work steadily towards them. He added that students must also stay vigilant about health. Without a healthy body and mind, no one can achieve their goals. He advised incorporating yoga, exercise and balanced diet into daily routines. He noted that student life was the best phase for self-preparation and development, urging students to build not just physical but also mental strength for multifaceted personalities.

The minister stated that every child had unique talents and abilities and a teacher’s responsibility went beyond just completing syllabus. Education should not be limited to books but include practical knowledge to face life’s challenges boldly. He said life’s meaning was not just passing time but pursuing one’s passion to achieve great things. Instead of blaming others for failures, students must introspect, build self-confidence and strengthen resolve. With dedication, discipline and consistency towards goals, no force can stop success.

Dharmani said a skill development centre was being set up in Ghumarwin, with classes starting in the next academic session. It would offer training in language skills, digital skills and various vocational skills, he said. He called on teachers to extend learning beyond classrooms into labs, fostering innovation and practical knowledge.
