Shimla, April 17
Now, the residents of Dodra Kwar will have all-weather road connectivity with the rest of the country throughout the year as a detailed project report (DPR) of a two-kilometre road from Pujarli in Dodra Kwar to Seva Dogri in Uttrakhand has been prepared.
The project report of Rs 2.47 crore for the two-km road from Pujarli to Seva Dogri has been prepared by the PWD, said DC Aditya Negi who inspected and reviewed the ongoing works undertaken by the PWD, Jal Shakti, horticulture and agriculture departments in Dodra Kwar today.
The people of Dodra Kwar (about 8,000) are cut off from the rest of the world for almost four months as the road connecting Rohru to Dodra Kwar is closed from mid-November to mid-March due to heavy snowfall in the area. This road would provide an alternate route.
He visited all five panchayats of Dodra Kwar sub division, including the remote Jakha panchayat not connected by road, and directed the officers to start implementing the new guidelines made after budget announcements pertaining to their departments.
He also heard the grievances of the people who demanded mobile network in the area besides road connectivity.
The DC also reviewed the possibility of starting skiing at Chanshal and a report in this regard would be submitted by the tourism officer soon.
